Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing an optical fiber cable with a hanging wire which increases a production speed, is capable of inexpensively supplying this optical cable in a short delivery time and improves workability for laying the cable. CONSTITUTION: This process for producing the optical fiber cable 18 with the hanging wire of an hourglass shape having a wire hanging part, a neck part and an optical fiber cable part comprises arranging the hanging wire 4 and an optical fiber cable core 5 in parallel delivering both simultaneously extrusion coating the outer periphery thereof with a sheath. The optical fiber cable is wound around a capstan 11 of an arbitrary diameter in the state of arranging the wire hanging part and the optical fiber cable part in parallel after extrusion coating of the sheath. The optical fiber cable part is provided with a surplus length by a difference between the bending radius in the wire hanging part and the bending radius in the optical fiber cable part at the time of winding the optical fiber cable and the optical fiber cable is cooled at the time of winding the cable on the capstan in order to maintain this surplus length.
