Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress rapid increase in a card insertion load in the middle of inserting an IC card.
SOLUTION: In the IC card reader having a contacting/detaching mechanism 33 for contacting and detaching an IC contact block 1 toward the contact terminal pattern of an IC card 2, a contact 8a of the IC contact block on the deep side of a card inserting direction C and a contact 8b on the front side of the card inserting direction C are brought into contact with the contact terminal pattern of the IC card 2 so that a difference can be generated in the start time of contact with the IC card 2.
