Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a focal point always with high accuracy, irrespective of ambient light.SOLUTION: Ambient light in a photographing environment in which a subject is photographed is detected by an ambient light detection sensor 130, and a CPU 121 calculates, in accordance with the result of ambient light detection by the ambient light detection sensor, an incident angle optical characteristic dependency value, which is a value changing in accordance with a change in the incident angle optical characteristic of light received by an image-capturing element 107, and detects, on the basis of a pair of image signals obtained from the image-capturing element in accordance with a pair of light having passed through mutually different exit pupil regions of an image forming optical system and the incident angle optical characteristic dependency value, a focal point position of the image forming optical system at which position the subject is in focus.
