Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual image display device which can make a user visually recognize a virtual image created on a ground surface by superimposing the virtual image on a background as if it actually exists in parallel with the ground face on the ground face.SOLUTION: A virtual image 8 of an image which is visually recognized by an occupant 7 of a vehicle is created by projecting the image on a screen 5 from a projector 4, reflecting the image projected on the screen 5 on a front window 6 of the vehicle 2, and making the occupant 7 of the vehicle visually recognize it. The virtual image 8 is created so that a lower end of the virtual image 8 is located on a ground face which is apart from the occupant 7 by a creation distance L, a distance from an upper end of the virtual image from the ground face is deviated, and the image which is projected on the screen is corrected so that a length from the lower end up to the upper end of the virtual image becomes a length which is based on a position of eyes of the occupant 7 and the creation distance L.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
