To provide an image display device by which a time base image is extracted from a dynamic image, buffer is used efficiently, and the user is able to view desired images with high resolution.
A fish-eye image sent from a broadcast station or the like is received continuously by a reception means 2 and stored in a buffer means 4. On the other hand, a user controls a cross cursor and a dial of an entry device of an entry means 1 to designate a desired image part. Then a control means 3 extracts an image corresponding to the designated image from the fish-eye images having been stored in the buffer means 4, based on information designated by the entry means 1 and provides an output of the extracted image to an image interpolation means 5. The image interpolation means 5 converts the image and feeds the image to a display means 6. The display means 6 displays the image fed from the image interpolation means 5.
