To obtain an image element excellent in image fastness by allowing a dye formed by reaction with the oxidized body of a specified compound to coexist with a fixed specified compound in a binder on a substrate.
A dye formed by reaction with the oxidized body of a compound of formula I is allowed to coexist with a fixed compound of formula II in a binder on a substrate. In the formula I, Z is carbamoyl, acyl, alkoxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, sulfonyl or sulfamoyl and Q is a group of atoms forming an unsaturated ring together with C. In the formula II, R is H, alky, aryl or a group forming hydroxyl when hydrolyzed, (n) is an integer of ≥1, X is H or a substituent, (m) is an integer of ≥1, m+n=5 and Y is a group capable of forming a covalent bond by chemical reaction with a reactive group contained in the binder.
