Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, an image forming system and an image forming control method capable of efficiently and appropriately executing the processing of a job in which both kinds of image formation on both surfaces and single surface are mixed while preventing apparatus deterioration, in an environment provided with a serial tandem image formation system and a single image formation apparatus.SOLUTION: In an image forming system, a first image forming apparatus 100 and a second image forming apparatus 300 which are mechanically connected along a flow of sheets such that respective image formation can be performed on either regions of the sheets as a serial tandem image formation system and, further, a third image forming apparatus 500 which can be communicated with the first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus and, however, cannot be mechanically connected with the first image formation apparatus and the second image formation apparatus. Therein, single surface output sheet number and both surface output sheet number are calculated by setting a job as the unit and, when the single surface output sheet number exceeds a prescribed threshold, the job is subjected to image formation by the third image forming apparatus, and image formation is shared with the job unit such that the job is subjected to image formation by the third image formation apparatus when the single surface output sheet number exceeds a predetermined threshold and the job is subjected to image formation by the first image formation apparatus and the second image formation apparatus when the single surface output sheet number does not exceed the threshold.
