To provide an image forming device which forms an image by using a plurality of laser exposure devices having scanning regions adjacent to each other, and can prevent deviation or irregularity in density along a seam between the scanning regions, to thereby ensure high quality of the image.
According to the structure of the image forming device, a plurality of laser engines are arranges such that main scanning directions of laser beams are in parallel with each other and that the scanning regions 60, 61 forms an overlapping region 62 in the main scanning direction. In the overlapping region 62, the laser beams emitted from the laser engines are modulated such that a shading value of each of the scanned regions 60, 61 gradually decreases toward the outside of a width thereof, and that the total of the shading values of the laser beams emitted from the laser engines in an overlapping manner becomes one.
