Abstract:
To stabilize the temperature of a nip part to prevent an image defect.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an endless rotatable fixing belt 41; a pressure roller 32 that forms, with the fixing belt 41, a nip part N for sandwiching and conveying a recording material to fix a toner image carried on the recording material to the recording material; a plurality of stretching members that stretch the fixing belt 41; a halogen heater 48 that heats a heating roller 43 being one of the plurality of stretching members to heat the fixing belt 41; a first thermistor 61 that detects the temperature of the heating roller 43 as a first temperature; a second thermistor 62 that detects, as a second temperature, the temperature of a second portion 41b of the fixing belt 41 different in a rotation direction R2 of the fixing belt 41 from a first portion 41a that is heated by the heating roller 43; and a control unit that controls the halogen heater 48. The control unit controls the halogen heater 48 based on the first temperature and the second temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
