PURPOSE: To eliminate the waste of toner by providing an image forming device of small size whose sheet carry path is short with a mode whereby even in a case where a supply of sheets is finished during consecutive printing, a four- color toner image is transferred to an intermediate transfer body, subsequently a process is stopped, and the image is transferred to a sheet after the sheets are supplied.

CONSTITUTION: Even when the sheets run out during the consecutive printing, the four-color toner image is held on the intermediate transfer body 15 after being transferred thereto, and the image is printed after the sheets are supplied, therefore a waste of toner can be eliminated and the image forming device of small size can be provided.
