To provide an image forming method capable of obtaining high image quality for a printed matter formed, while attaining energy saving, and to provide the printed matter obtained by the method.
In the image forming method for obtaining the printed matter, by making a toner holding body layer hold a toner image formed by a toner composed of toner particles alone or toner composed of toner particles and an additive agent, a haze C(%) of a liquid phase satisfies the relation 10≥C, with the liquid phase being obtained by after dispersing the toner, the toner being used to form the toner image in a sodium dodecyl sulfonate solution of 0.01 wt.% so that solid content becomes 10 wt.% and performing additive agent liberation treatment, by applying an ultrasonic wave at output of 150 W for 60 seconds, and performing separation treatment to make the solution pass a filter paper that separates a solid matter having a longest diameter of 1 μm or greater.
