PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive image pickup device or the like capable of rapidly recording an image and sound so that they can be reproduced without the limitation of an environmental condition.

CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive recording medium 8 is carried from a supply roll 6 side to a housing roll 7 side. A still picture is exposed in every frame 19 of the carried recording medium 8. Simultaneously, the ambient sound is detected by a microphone 73 and frequency-modulated by a signal conversion circuit 74, then exposed and recorded on the recording medium 8 by actuating an optical recording head 75. The recording medium 8 where the still picture is exposed in every frame 19 and a sound track 79 is exposed is developed and fixed in a developing and fixing unit 20 immediately after picking up the image.
