To provide an image processing apparatus capable of reducing failure in automatic selection in selecting a mostly focused image from among a plurality of images imaged while changing a focus distance in a short time.

The image processing apparatus includes: an input means 10 for inputting a plurality of images of an object, the plurality of images being consecutively imaged while changing a focal length for the same object; a correcting means 11 for acquiring a positional deviation amount of an imaged object between images from the inputted image data and correcting each of the images in accordance with the positional deviation amount; a calculating means 12 for calculating an evaluation value representing a focused state for each of the corrected images; and a selecting means 13 for selecting an image having the highest evaluation value of the calculated evaluation values, as the mostly focused image.
