Abstract:
To provide an image processing apparatus, method, and a program that remove a meshing point in contact with characters without setting the size of the meshing point in advance.SOLUTION: In an information processing system, a system control unit of an image processing apparatus extracts connected pixel clusters of black pixels in a binarized image including a meshing point, determines a connected pixel cluster with a size equal to or less than a threshold as an isolated point, and removes the isolated point. The control unit determines the size of the meshing point by using the size of the removed isolated point. The control unit creates an image after edge extraction obtained by extracting an edge from the image after removal of the isolated point, performs morphology processing (thickening processing, thinning processing), and specifies the meshing point to remove the meshing point in contact with characters.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
