Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system, an image processing method, and a program that can improve detection precision in a direction of an edge while reducing the computational costs associated with the direction detection of the edge.SOLUTION: There is provided an image processing system that comprises a preprocessing part which determines a calculation range of calculation for detecting a direction of an edge included in an image that an input image signal represents based upon an input image signal, and an edge direction detection part which detects the direction of the edge by performing the calculation within the determined calculation range based upon the input image signal, the processing part determining the calculation range based upon a result of a first determination on whether the direction of the edge included in the image is closer to the horizontal direction or vertical direction of the image and a result of a second determination on a quadrant that the direction of the edge corresponding to the result of the first determination belongs to.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
