To provide an image processing system and an image processing method capable of permitting the print output of the duplicate original of high image quality by using the original electronic data of an original in which a tint block pattern or the like is embedded in order to prevent unauthorized duplication in the case that duplication is permitted and suppressing the unauthorized duplication for the one which is printed and outputted.
An MPF system 101 is connected through a network 104 to an original holding server 102 holding the electronic data of the original corresponding to the original in which a tint block image for duplication inhibition is formed, wherein the original in which the tint block image is formed is scanned and specific information added to the original is extracted. Then, the electronic data held in the server is retrieved on the basis of the specific information, transfer is requested, the electronic data are received, and the tint block image is formed so as to suppress the duplication. Then, the electronic data in which the tint block image is formed are printed.
