PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the image processing unit in which a color of an image displayed on a display device is well in matching with a color of a printed matter efficiently with a simple method by calculating reference color information from a histogram of each color of a color input image so as to allow the user to adjust the color.
SOLUTION: A color input image from a printed matter is displayed on a display device 18 via a color conversion processing section 16. On the other hand, a pre-processing section 1 calculates an area of each color from the color input image to obtain a histogram and reference color information is calculated and outputted from the histogram. A coincident information generating section 2 gives an instruction of color adjustment to the user based on the reference color information and stores and outputs the coincident information obtained as a result. A correction processing section 3 finds a conversion coefficient for color conversion based on the coincident information and performs color conversion of the color input image via the color conversion processing section 16 and the result is sent to the display section 18. Thus, a color of an image displayed on the display device is in matching with a color of a printed matter.
