Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct with high accuracy color balance deviation of with respect to original image resulting from obtaining a photographed object due to photograph recording characteristics and due to a light source.
SOLUTION: Gray balance is estimated for each image on the basis of image data for a plurality of images recorded on one set of photo films to calculates a correction condition of color balance (normalized condition) (100), image data are corrected (102) according to the correction condition, and highlight pixels of the image being a processing object are extracted from gray candidate pixels to obtain a highlight color vector HL (104-112), the cosine of a hue angle difference between the vector HL and a color vector CP of each pixel is respectively calculated to obtain its minimum value (hue angle correlation T) (116-122). Then degree of different light source α is calculated, on the basis of the hue angle correlation T and the magnitude H of the vector HL to set and calculate a correction amount C with respect to color balance diviation due to a light source.
