To provide an image processor which can prevent the occurrence of writing omission at the time of writing data on a recording medium.

An image processor is provided with an image pickup element 14 which generates image data, a memory 30 which stores the image data, and a recorder 200 which records the image data. The processor is also provided with a displaying section 28 which displays the image data and a reproduction mode setting section 66 which sets a reproduction mode in which the image data are reproduced. In addition, the image processor has a photographing mode in which a plurality of continuously picked up image data are stored in the memory 30 and the stored image data are successively read out from the memory 30 and recorded in a recording section, a first reproduction mode in which the image data read out from the memory 30 are reproduced and displayed, and a second reproduction mode in which the image data read out from the recorder 200 are reproduced and displayed. When no instruction is given from the reproduction mode setting section 66 when the storing operations of the continuously picked up image data in the memory 30 are completed in the photographing mode, the image processor executes the first reproduction mode. When an instruction is given from the setting section 66, the processor executes the second mode.
