Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform quick processings of an image signal and to simplify a circuit by providing two or more different capturing modes and switching these capturing modes, in accordance with progress of the image processing or automatically independently of the progress.
SOLUTION: In an image processor 27 for optical fiber observation, video signals outputted from first and second TV cameras 1 and 1 are inputted to an input processing circuit 13, and the video signal of the proper TV camera 1 is selected there through the control of an R/W control circuit 12, and this video signal is subjected t A/D conversion by an A/D converter 22 and is written in a data memory 14 as image data. Three new capturing modes are prepared for writing of image data to the data memory 14 in addition to an existing capturing mode, and a capturing mode which has high resolution and a capturing mode which has low resolution but which is capable of high-speed processing are switched properly to perform the image processing. A data operator 15 then performs image processing on the image data stored in the data memory 14.
