Abstract:
To provide an image recording device capable of identifying a vehicle which performed tailgating driving, in a post-facto manner and an image recording method.SOLUTION: An image recording device 30 comprises: a recording section 24 for recording a vehicle periphery image generated by a camera 10 and imaging a periphery of a vehicle 1; a tailgating determination section 21 for determining whether the vehicle 1 is getting tailgating driving based on the picked-up vehicle periphery image; and a control section 23 by which, in a case where the tailgating determination section 21 determines that the vehicle is not getting the tailgating driving, the recording section 24 is controlled so as to record a vehicle periphery image having predetermined first image quality and in a case where the tailgating determination section 21 determines that the vehicle is getting tailgating driving, the recording section 24 is controlled so as to record a vehicle periphery image having higher second image quality than the first image quality.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
