Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Image pickup device or the like that configures a system with other devices and ensures controllability and response to exposure control at the same time. SOLUTION: Various clock signals, including a vertical drive signal, are generated by a timing generator 6 drive a CCD 2. The timing generator 6 is provided with a register for a control parameter for an exposure time, fed from a CPU 7 and the control parameter is variably set to the register to control a charge storage time of the CCD 2. The timing generator 6 generates an exposure control request signal, when a picked-up image reflecting the control result attended with the setting of the control parameter completes transfer from the CCD 2. The exposure control request signal is used for a trigger for allowing the CPU 7 to perform the exposure control. Even if execution is delayed due to execution of other tasks having higher priority, the exposure control on the basis of correct information reflecting on control contents immediately before is conducted at all times. Moreover, the interval of the exposure control becomes shortest time, in response to the state of the CPU 7 on each occasion.
