A device comprises imaging systems 11-15 having a focal plane shutter 12, synchronizing with traveling of the shutter 12, dividing a captured image for one screen into plural regions and acquiring them; detection systems 11d, 11e, 30 for detecting information serving as indices of a change of a size of a main subject occupying the screen during an imaging action; a CPU 22 for determining whether the size of the main subject is changed during the imaging action from the detected information; an image processing part 16 for deforming an image of the main subject (OJ) in the captured image divided and acquired in plural regions in an identical size, synthesizing it as the image of the main subject, synthesizing an image of a background portion other than the main subject from the obtained image of the main subject and the image divided and acquired in each of the plural regions, and further synthesizing one image from the image of the main subject and the image of the background portion; and recording systems 29, 33 for recording the obtained image.
