To synthesize information into image data at high quality without widening a use area of a memory for performing image processing needlessly.
An imaging apparatus includes: a CCD control unit 13 to input Bayer data; a RAM for storing the Bayer data; an image processing part 14 for converting the Bayer data for area division unit from the RAM into YUV data; a ring buffer in the RAM for holding the converted YUV data; a JPEG conversion part 16 for converting the YUV data of the ring buffer into JPEG data and making a RAM store the JPEG data; a memory control unit 12 to output the stored JPEG data; and an image synthesis part 18 for synthesizing information image data in the YUV data held by the ring buffer; and an image data transfer part 17 for adjusting (delaying) transfer operation of the YUV data leading to the JPEG conversion part 16 from the ring buffer while an image is being synthesized by the image synthesis part 18 into the YUV data held by the ring buffer.
