Title:
IMPACT RESISTANT THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITION FOR MOLDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1053690
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain the subject composition capable of expressing excellent tenacity and hardness and useful in electric and electronic fields, automobile fields, etc., by adding a specific amount of an acid-functional nitrile rubber to a thermoplastic composition having a specific graft rubber as a base.

This impact resistant thermoplastic composition for molding consists of (A) a thermoplastic co- or terpolymer obtained from a monomer (M) selected from a (ring-substituted) styrene, α-methylstyrene, methyl methacrylate, (meth)acrylonitrile, maleic anhydride, an N-substituted maleimide, vinyl acetate or a mixture of those, (B) a graft product obtained by copolymerizing 5-90 pts.-wt. of M onto 95-100 pts.wt. of a rubber copolymer obtained from 70-95wt.% of butadiene and 5-30wt.% of acrylonitrile and having 100-250μm average particle size and (C) an acid-functional nitrile rubber. The composition comprises 0-90 pts.wt. of the component A, 10-100 pts.wt. of the component B and 0.3-20wt. % of the component C based on the sum total weight of the components A, B and C.
