PURPOSE: To use an impinger for collecting a foreign object included in gas for a long time without causing blocking and to improve the collecting efficiency of the impinger.

CONSTITUTION: Partition plates 1a, 1b, and 1c with a number of holes 7a, 7b, and 7c which are of the same size as an air bubble 9 generated by a gas exhaust pipe 4 are provided halfway to a rise path, the air bubble 9 is passed through the holes 7a, 7b, and 7c in this order so that the bubble can be divided into or formed into air bubbles 9a, 9b, and 9c with a uniform size, thus increasing the degree of contact between gas and liquid, namely between the air bubble 9 and an absorption liquid 8. The title impinger is not provided with a mesh plate with a thin hole for dividing the air bubble into small parts and for causing blocking.
