Title:
IMPROVED CURTAIN AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3782793
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer novel and useful construction permitting an inflation fluid to be dispersed into a side curtain air bag. SOLUTION: An inlet pipe 132 and a distribution pipe 100 allow inflation gas to flow along the air bag 32 in a predetermined direction. The distribution pipe 100 has a conical portion formed to reduce the pressure of the inflation gas supplied from the inlet pipe 132 and distribute the inflation gas into expandable compartments 60a, 60b, 60c, 60d of the air bag 32. The air bag 32 is stored in such a manner that, when the inflation gas is first supplied to the distribution pipe 100 in the state that the distribution pipe 100 is wrapped around the air bag 32 at the inside of a vehicle, the distribution pipe 100 is released from the air bag 32 at the inside of the vehicle and arranged between the air bag 32 at the inside of the vehicle and a side structure of the vehicle adjacent thereto.
