To provide a smart card reader capable of elevating a connector above a printed circuit board(PCB), especially to dispose additional components below it.
This smart card reader includes plural offsets 43 protruding toward a PCB (not shown in the figure) to be connected with a connector 30. Each offset 43 has a height corresponding to the required height of the connector 30 to be elevated above the PCB. The offset 43 includes an almost flat surface landing 43a at its end part, and a slender fixing member 45 is extended from there. The fixing member 45 is mounted so that it can be inserted in the mounting aperture (not shown), and therefore, the landing 43a is on the same plane as the PCB, and a component disposing region having the above height is fixed below the connector 30.
