Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily and swiftly producing a transgenic non-human animal useful for assessing characteristics, pharmacological actions and safety of a molecular target substance or a target drug to a human specific molecule, and assessing the characteristics, pharmacological actions and safety of a molecular target substance or a target drug to a human specific molecule using the transgenic non-human animal.SOLUTION: In a BAC clone of a non-human animal, a gene encoding the human specific molecule is replaced by a homologue gene of a non-human animal of the gene encoding the human specific molecule to provide a recombinant BAC clone. The recombinant BAC clone is introduced as an expression vector in the non-human animal by a microinjection method to produce a transgenic non-human animal expressing the human specific molecule. The method for assessing characteristics of a test article, includes: administering the test article to the transgenic non-human animal; and assessing the characteristics of the test article within the organism of the transgenic non-human animal.
