PURPOSE: To provide an inclined elevator moving at high speed and having increased riding comfort by providing an angle computation means for computing a desired value of angle of inclination according to the result of computation by an acceleration computation means, and an inclination angle control means for controlling the operation of an inclining motion means according to the result of computation by the angle computation means.
CONSTITUTION: An inclined elevator includes a cage floor 10 which can be freely inclined relative to the direction in which the elevator advances, a hydraulic unit 12 serving as an inclining motion means for moving the cage floor 10 in such a manner that the floor 10 is freely inclined, an acceleration computation means for computing the acceleration of a cage 1, an angle computation means for computing a desired value of angle of inclination according to the result of the above computation, and an inclination angle control device 13 for controlling the operation of the hydraulic unit 12 according to the result of computation by the angle computation means. The acceleration of the cage is computed by the acceleration computation means, and according to the result of this computation the inclination angle control device 13 controls the operation of the hydraulic unit 12 which puts the freely inclinable cage floor 10 in inclining motion.
