Abstract:

To provide an induction heated melting furnace causing no danger of steam explosion and having a gas seal function.

An electromagnetic induction heating melting furnace main body is constituted of a refractory material 2 and a metallic furnace shell 3 covering the outside of the refractory material 2. The metallic furnace shell 3 is divided into a plurality of sections in the circumference direction and electrically insulated, and on the outer periphery of the metallic furnace shell 3, a plurality of induction heating coils 4 and U-shaped iron cores 5 are installed. In the opposite part to the metallic furnace at the both end faces of the iron core 5 in the divided parts in the circumference direction of the furnace shell 3, an opening part 6 wider than an area of the end face of the iron core 5 is formed in the metallic furnace shell 3 for passing magnetic flux.
