Abstract:
To provide an induction melting furnace including a sleeve, in which the penetration rate of molten metal into a furnace wall, the penetration points thereof and the like are accurately grasped and monitored so that a metal melting process can be stabilized and made more efficient.SOLUTION: An induction melting furnace is characterized to monitor the progressive status in deterioration of a refractory material by detecting changes in electrical resistance between an electrode and an outside antenna or changes in electrical resistance between an inside antenna and the outside antenna and also monitor the progressive status in deterioration of a sleeve by detecting changes in electrical resistance between the inside antenna and the electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
