Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device and an information processing method capable of suitably coping with a delay in host software (OS) caused by specification processing of system management firmware (BIOS) using a system management mode without shortening time required for the specification processing.SOLUTION: A server 100 comprises a BIOS 110 and an OS 120. A processing time storage part 116 of the BIOS stores estimated processing time to be required for specification processing and actual processing time required for the specification processing. A storage region notification part 114 notifies the OS of the storage region. A delay determination part 122 of the OS determines whether or not there is an unallowable delay in the specification processing on the basis of the estimated processing time to be required for the specification processing and the actual processing time required for the specification processing acquired by a processing time acquisition part 121. A factor determination part 123 determines that a factor of time-out in the OS is caused by the specification processing when it is determined that there is an unallowable delay in the specification processing by the delay determination part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
