Title:
INGOT MOLD FOR CONTINUOUSLY CASTING MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000317585
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an ingot mold, with which it can be prevented that molten metal separates from the mold wall or the mold edges and the effective cooling of the molten metal can be executed at the whole positions and along the whole length of the mold.

The cast introducing tube 2 is constituted with substantially parallel one pair of first walls 3 and substantially parallel one pair of second walls 4, and provided with at least first portion 8 which has round inside edge parts 5 and the inside parts gradually varied from first end parts 7 in the longitudinal direction. The molten metal is supplied from the first portion 8 toward second end parts 11 at the reverse side of the first end parts 7, and the inside parts gradually varied in the first portion 8, are decided by continuously and gradually varying the curvature radius at the round inside edge parts 5 so as to reduce the curvature radius from the max. value at the first end parts 7 to the min. value at the second parts 8.
