Title:
INHIBITION OF CORROSION IN WATER SYSTEM USING CERTAIN KIND OF PHOSPHONOMETHYLAMINES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03260079
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively inhibit the corrosion of metals in a water system by using water-soluble phosphonomethylamines having the tertiary amine groups expressed by a specific formula and a cloud point of a specific value or above and their salts as a corrosion inhibitor.

CONSTITUTION: The water-soluble phosphonomethylamines having ≥1 pieces of the oxidized tertiary amine group expressed by the formula and the cloud point of about ≥25 ppm in CA500 cloud point test and their water-soluble salts are added as the corrosion inhibitor to the water system in an effective amt. As a result, the iron-base metal surface in contact with the system water in the water system is immobilized and the corrosion thereof is inhibited. The corrosion inhibitor has the cloud point and is nonsensitive to calcium and, therefore, the corrosion inhibitor is effectively used in the water of relatively high hardness and the resistance to the free chlorine in the water is obtd.
