Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress distortion of a shape of ink discharged onto a recording medium.SOLUTION: A control apparatus 60 of an ink jet printer 100 comprises: a first movement control part 62 which reciprocatingly moves a discharge part 40 for discharging ink in a main scanning direction Y; a discharge control part 63 which causes the discharge part 40 to discharge the ink while the discharge part 40 is reciprocatingly moved in the main scanning direction Y; and a second movement control part 64 which moves a recording medium 5 loaded on a platen 25 in a sub-scanning direction X by a prescribed distance after the discharge part 40 has been reciprocatingly moved in the main scanning direction Y. The second movement control part 64 moves the recording medium 5 in the sub-scanning direction X after a prescribed first time T1 has lapsed from completion of reciprocating movement of the discharge part 40. The first movement control part 62 reciprocatingly moves the discharge part 40 after a second time T2 shorter than the first time T1 has lapsed from completion of movement of the recording medium 5 in the sub-scanning direction X by the prescribed distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
