Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink for an ink jet printer, which can give a print having good light resistance, surface gloss and scratch resistance.
SOLUTION: This ink for an ink jet printer is prepared by dispersing colloidal particles having a mean particle diameter of 5-200nm and composed of colorant particles prepared by allowing fine porous ceramic particles to adsorb a dye, an ultraviolet intercepting layer formed on the surface of each colorant particle and fine ceramic sol particles adhered to the surface of each colorant particle in an ink medium comprising a mixture of an organic solvent having an affinity for water with water.
