Abstract:

To provide an inorganic scintillator having a high fluorescence output.

The inorganic scintillator is an inorganic scintillator comprising a crystal capable of undergoing scintillation by a radiation, represented by formula (1): Lu2xGd2(1-x)-ySiO5:Cey (wherein x and y are in the ranges: 0.05≤x≤0.4, and 0.001≤y≤0.02), and containing cerium as a luminescence center. The inorganic scintillator can be obtained by the growing step of growing a crystal in an atmosphere of an oxygen concentration of 300 to 500 ppm. vol.
