Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable multiple types of gesture input and reduce the size of an input device.SOLUTION: An input device 100 includes a touch sensor 13 for detecting touch by a finger F of a user; a gesture recognition unit 22 for recognizing gesture based on a signal generated by the touch sensor 13; and a notification unit 23 for sending an operation signal corresponding to the gesture recognized by the gesture recognition unit 22 to other devices. The touch sensor 13 has only one sensing electrode unit 11 for touch detection, and generates the signal by detecting change in capacitance that occurs in response to touch on the sensing electrode unit 11. The gesture recognition unit 22 recognizes a touch with a finger, swipe with a finger(s), and the number of fingers used for the swipe from the signal.
