Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an insole consisting of a flexible low-density expanded materials are closed-celled of substantial uniform size by constituting a melted product from a mixture of melted thermoplastic multi-blocked co-polymer elastomer with a foaming agent and by extruding the resultant product through orifices. CONSTITUTION: A melted product is obtained from a thermoplastic multi-blocked copolymer elastomer selected from the group consisting of copolyether ester, copolyester ester, copolyetherimide ester and copolyetheramide, which is melted at a higher temperature than that of its melting point together with gas or liquid foaming agent which boils at a low boiling point and the foaming agent is added to the melted elastomer and mixed together under a pressure sufficient enough to melt and/or disperse the foaming agent to produce the melted product and the resultant mixture is extruded through orifices in a region under a relatively low pressure which causes to generate foaming and expansion; thus, by hardening the elastomer, a foam structure is constituted. A foaming agent may be liquid, solid or inert gas. Preferable appropriate foaming agent is e.g. hydrocarbons and partially or completely halogenated hydrocarbons.
