To make an inspection of a stator winding relatively easily and surely in a short time without pulling a rotor body from a stator body.
An inspection device for stator windings of a rotary machine has a probe 1 including a measuring element, an arm device 10, and a circumferential movement device 40 which moves in the circumferential direction on a cylindrical face. The arm device 10 has an arm link section 11 for supporting the probe 1 (a top link body 11a and an arm position maintaining mechanism 14 are main parts), an arm storing section 12 related with the driving of the arm link section 11 (a guide rail 25 is a main part), and an arm driving mechanism. The arm driving mechanism lets the top link body 11a project from the arm link section 11 at an angle heading toward a measurement position P of a stator winding 103a in the axis direction of the rotor body 130 while moving the arm link section 11 along the guide rail 25. The arm position maintaining mechanism 14 has a link wire 21 and a spring 22 as its main parts and maintains the top link body 11a after projecting from the arm link section 11 in the linear position.
