PURPOSE: To measure the physical property of an object to be measured accurately and easily in a short time, by interposing a very thin liquid film of a solution to be measured in a very fine clearance formed between a biologic reaction film and a substrate electrode utilizing an interfacial tension possessed by the solution itself being measured.
CONSTITUTION: A solution O to be measured is dripped with a micropipette P or the like into a space S formed near the circumference of a contact surface between a biologic reaction film A and response surfaces of substrate electrodes B and B and made to diffuse in a very fine clearance C between the film A and the surfaces of the electrodes B and B by an interfacial tension possessed by the solution thereby a very thin liquid film D is interposed between the film A and the response surfaces of the electrodes B and B. This setup enables the detection of electrical signals attributed to a biological reaction diffusing through the film D itself with electrodes B and B as generated in the interface between the film A and the film D by interaction of the film A and the solution O being measured composing the film D thereby measuring a physical property of the solution O.
