Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress cooling water which leaks out of a water pump from becoming conspicuous as much as possible.SOLUTION: A leak water sump 41 for storing cooling water passing through seal means 34 is formed at a lower end of a pump housing 23. An outwardly-opened opening part of the leak water sump 41 is closed by a lid 44, and an exhaust port 45 which is opened toward a front cover 4 is formed at a bottom. A notched groove 46 communicating with the exhaust port 45 is formed at the front cover 4, and a recess 47 in which the exhaust port 45 is opened is formed at a base end face 23a of the pump housing 23. Since the exhaust port 45 is inconspicuous, the dripping cooling water also becomes inconspicuous, and it can be prevented that the water pump 10 is misunderstood to be failed or damaged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
