Abstract:
To provide thermochromic ink compositions and their various uses and applications.SOLUTION: There is provided a thermochromic ink composition having core-shell microcapsules, an aqueous dispersion medium and a decolorization agent. The core-shell microcapsules comprise: a core component which comprises an electron-donative organic compound, an electron-accepting compound, and a reaction medium for causing a color-forming electron transfer reaction; and a shell component including organic polymer. The decolorization agent is a polyether amine comprising amino groups attached to the end of the polyether backbone which is capable of irreversibly decoloring a colorant formed by the electron transfer reaction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
