Abstract:
To reduce substantially a Japanese paper replacement cost (expenditure, labour and craftsmanship) that has been expensive due to the fact that the Japanese paper is fixed to a framework with glue when a conventional Japanese paper shows a long-term deterioration, keep attractive feature of Japanese paper and expand its artistry through replacement of Japanese paper.SOLUTION: A cylinder wound with an old Japanese paper is pulled out of a ring, the old Japanese paper is removed, a new Japanese paper is wound around the cylinder and again inserted into the ring. The old Japanese paper shows that both ends of the Japanese paper wound around the cylinder are adhered with glue, resulting in that it is possible to remove it easily from the cylinder and replace it with the new paper. Substantial reduction of the replacement cost of Japanese paper enables it to be replaced optionally with a new Japanese paper and attraction of the Japanese paper as well as range of artistry can be remarkably expanded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
