Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jaw motion measuring apparatus and a measuring method using the same which can alleviate the burden on a subject and can measure the natural jaw motion during everyday life accurately.
SOLUTION: The jaw motion measuring apparatus comprises a marker permanent magnet 17 for attaching on the lower jaw of a human body, a magnetic sensor unit 11 of at least six-axis attached on the head for detecting the magnetism generated at the marker permanent magnet 17, a posture angle detector 12 having a geomagnetism sensor and attached on the head for detecting the inclination and the orientation of the head, a memory device for storing an output result from the magnetic sensor unit 11 and the posture angle detector, and a computing means for calculating the spacial position and the displacement of the marker permanent magnet 17 on the basis of the output result.
