To provide a keyword retrieval system, a digital broadcast receiver and a keyword retrieval method, capable of easily retrieving a keyword related to a program under viewing.
The digital broadcast receiver in the keyword retrieval system is provided with: a keyword acquisition portion which acquires the keyword from a server connected via a network; a character string analysis portion which compares character strings included in program information of a broadcast program with the keyword to extract matching keywords which match to the keyword; a GUI control portion which displays the matching keywords on a screen; and a browser which displays retrieval information relevant to a matching keyword selected by a viewer from among the matching keywords. The server is provided with: a keyword storage portion which accumulates information on a keyword with the many number of retrievals or a keyword whose number of retrievals rapidly increases; and a transmission portion which transmits the keyword according to a request of the digital broadcast receiver.
