To improve the acoustic properties, especially to reinforce a low-pitched sound component in a kitchen unit with an audio function.
A sound generator 20 is disposed in a piping storage compartment 12 between a back panel 7 and a partition member 8 of a kitchen sink 1 to make a sound source chamber. A through opening 13 is formed in the lower part of the partition member 8 to make the piping storage compartment 12 communicate with a bottom compartment 14. A duct 16 is mounted on a riser 15. The sound generated from the sound generator 10 is radiated from the sound source chamber (the piping storage compartment 12) to the outside via the bottom compartment 14 through the duct 16. As the total volume of the piping compartment 12 and the bottom compartment 14 is the volume of enclosure, the kitchen unit is suitable for reproducing large-volume sound, and rich low-pitched sound can be reproduced by the bass-reflex effect. In addition, high-quality sound can be reproduced by using a sound generator 20A attached to a door 17 of a storage compartment 4 for middle to high-pitched sound and by using a sound generator 20 in the piping storage compartment 12 for low-pitched sound. Furthermore, the stereo effect can be achieved by disposing the sound generators 20A and 20A on the left and right sides of the door 17.
