Abstract:

To reduce the moving resistance of a knitting tool in a guide gutter, at the same time, enable the continuous guide and support of the knitting tool from both sides at two or more positions having a space between them in the longitudinal direction of a shank.

At least one depressed open space is formed on the shank 5 of a knitting tool and/or on at least one side wall of a guide gutter 2 for receiving the knitting tool formed on the supporting body 1 for knitting tool of a flat knitting machine or a warp knitting machine. At least one depressed open space is formed in a so-called guide region 21 of the shank 5 of the knitting tool which is continuously left in the guide gutter 2 on reciprocal motion, or the open space extends from a first restriction part near the end of the guide gutter facing the knitting region to the neighbor of the region which is abraded by a butt 8 of the knitting tool during reciprocal motion of the knitting tool.
