To provide a lacquer clay capable of obtaining a molded article having a desired shape and becoming a substrate easily at a low cost and also easily performing a final coating, etc., on the obtained molded article with a lacquer, and a method for producing the molded article by using the lacquer clay.

This method for producing the molded article of the lacquer clay is characterized by being equipped with a forming process of forming the lacquer clay containing 40-60 pt. wt. rice paste, 15-25 pt. wt. raw lacquer, 2-4 pt. wt. natural fiber and 100-150 inorganic powder as a desired form, a formed article-curing process of curing the lacquer contained in the formed article obtained in the forming process and lacquer-applying process of applying the raw lacquer on the surface of the formed article after removing the inorganic powder exposed on the surface of the obtained cured formed article.
